Lachenalia

As Lachenalia amarelas estão quase a florir. Gosto de observar esta fase da evolução da flor.

The yellow Lachenalia are almost blooming. I like to observe this stage of the evolution of the flower.

Este ano decidi fazer uma experiência que já havia lido há algum tempo: propagar a planta através das folhas.
Há umas semanas atrás, ainda os botões das flores mal começavam a aparecer, retirei uma folha. Depois de dois dias a secar, coloquei a folha em terra e fui pulverizando sempre que me lembrava. Nos primeiros dias a folha murchou muito, mas aos poucos foi recuperando. Neste momento já existe algo na base dessa folha, o que quer dizer que a experiência resultou!


This year I decided to do an experiment that I had read some time ago: to propagate the plant through the leaves.
A few weeks ago, when the flower buds was starting to appear, I cuted a leaf. After two days to dry, I put the leaf on the soil and spraying whenever I remembered. In the early days the leaf wilted too, but was gradually recovering. Right now there is already something in the base of this leaf, which means that the experiment worked well!

Ao ver tal resultado, cortei mais duas folhas pela base e duas pelo meio (outra experiência). Já estão plantadas, agora vamos aguardar pelos resultados.

Seeing this result, I cut two more leaves over the base and two in the middle (another experiment). They are already planted, now lets wait for the results.
